Here is another character of God that mankind didn’t understand until Jesus came. From the old testament, we saw different dispensations of God’s nature; whereas some were clearly defined, others were indistinctively revealed. Most of these characters of God revealed were neither consistent nor simple because of the approach of men i.e fallen men were looking at God as one who is complicated, can’t be understood and highly unstable.
It is important for us to know that, as regarding the law, God was being revealed by the prophets (fallen man) through the ministry of angels and a major influence in the reception of the revelations is the color of the souls of these men (prophets). By the ministry of angels was GOD revealed and every time this revelation came forth, there was always a misconception from the prophet because of the fall or from the angel because they were relating with fallen men.
God knew about these missing links and therefore came as Jesus to portray God unto us. When he came, he proclaimed himself as the only way to the Father.
By looking through the old testament, we clearly see Jesus (in a shadow) as the way to the Father.
Jesus came to simplify the complex equation. He came to tell us that God who is our Father isn’t far up in heaven but he is in us and we are in him. Such statement couldn’t be understood by the men in his time. That was why he left in order to give us an added advantage.
The Lord left in order to give us the Holy spirit whose purpose is to do these :
* Convict the world of Sin, because anyone that doesn’t believe in Jesus is the only person who is in SIN. By the Spirit, we come to get a new/true perspective about SIN. So Sin isn’t an action, it is an outright disbelieve in what Jesus Christ has done.
What did Jesus Christ do?
* Convict the world of Judgement, because the prince of the world is condemned. Jesus came to show us clearly that satan (the old serpent) is completely destroyed and overcome.
The more we look at Jesus Christ, the clearer we see that satan, demons or any type of sickness has been destroyed forever. It that clear and consistent!
* Convict the world of righteousness, because I go to the Father and you see me no more. Now that SIN and Satan has been destroyed forever, He went to the Father and the proof that he went to the Father is that we are now where he is.
Where then is Jesus Christ now?
Jesus said, he goes to the Father. He therefore now has his place in the Father as the one who is the Father's perpetual delight. On that account, we can now be called the righteousness of God.
Jesus Christ who is in the father, i.e Jesus Christ in God has made everything simple and consistent.
Satan is destroyed and ignoring this message and believing in another message or testimony apart from these is Sin. Also, it is Sin to not believe that satan is destroyed forever.
Sin is not believing that Jesus Christ has gone to meet the Father; however, when we believe all these truths, it is accounted unto us as Righteousness.
Righteousness is a believe in what one as done for us. Therefore, we are now all that he is.
